History
Founded in 2016 the company IFA Medical Solutions GmbH established itself as a spin-off of the Institute of Anaplastology Velten and Hering GbR (www.epithesen.de) founded in 1998. It’s main focus lies in additive manufacturing (AM) allowing individual medical solutions, anatomical models and visuals for patient education and training of employees to be implemented using 3D printing technology. IFA Medical Solutions GmbH benefits from many years of experience from the Institute of Anaplastology Velten and Hering GbR, which has been manufacturing custom-made respiratory masks developed by managing partners Andreas Velten and Norbert Schilling since 1998. With a success rate of over 98% more than three thousand patients have been provided with custom- made individual masks since then!
While the Berlin institute’s main emphasis lies on the respiratory field other medical fields for which AM offers a suitable, less invasive alternative also frame the portfolio. We believe that every patient faces unique challenges and thus needs an individual patient care for which AM can offer precise and custom-made solutions.
Through 3D printing we are now able to directly offer every single production step from the scan, over processing the data set to the design and the final implementation in our institute in Berlin.
Our DIN EN ISO 13485 certificate reflects our demand for a high quality standard. Together with research faculties we are constantly striving to further develop the materials and techniques applied into our everyday practice. Only approved medical products and biocompatible materials find their way in our production process. Managing director Andreas Velten looks back at many years of experience in the field of tracheal respiration, prosthetics and individual healing assistance being an accredited anaplastologist himself since 2001.
